I DO have a tremendous amount of willpower that I earned, and am very proud of. I broke my neck when I was 14, and had to spend months learning to walk again. I fought with everything I had to get that back, and I have an inner confidence and willpower that everyone sees in me, ESP or no. Every so called psychic I have met has either been terrified of me or totally shocked. I don't know if THAT'S what people pick up on or not.

I DO believe the body has its own energy that can be harnessed and controlled, and I learned to do that flawlessly when I was in the hospital bed. I still do when I meditate. Maybe the way I see it is the same thing others see, without me realizing it?

Back during the thread when you were attacked, you did mention that you practice martial arts, correct? Between the amount of focus and willpower you developed while learning to walk again and the chi manipulation inherent in learning a martial discipline I can definitely see where you'd be a real heavyweight as far as those things go.

Then again, some people are just naturally gifted that way (ex. Wagegoth) and you might've had that kind of inner strength even before and just not realized it.

You cause electronics to break? Freaky. I have the ability to sense electronic devices, especially some of the older ones. Like, even if the volume is muted completely on a TV anywhere in the house, I can tell if it's on. Same with a computer monitor or anything with a CRT.

CRTs hum. At a frequency just below most people's range of hearing. I can't quite hear them with my ears, but I can hear the vibrations as the sound waves hit my lower jaw. Bone conduction is an amazing thing.

I don't traditionally meditate, but I can sink into myself easily for a few minutes, although sometimes longer as I need.

When I was still in elementary school, I read about people learning to control their breathing, sleeping, pain and such, and decided to see if I could do it. I learned to block out most pains, which still comes in very handy, and to compartmentalize it if I couldn't. I learned to wake up without moving, including opening my eyes. I never did get very good at holding my breath--only got up to about a minute, and that was with swimming lessons.

Kus, it sound like you're extra sensitive to sound. Studying martial arts does make you more aware of your surroundings, including vibration and sound, and a built-in sensitivity would help. That was one of the things we would practice when I studied Aikido many, many moons ago. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, "Out of Mind, Out of Sight," has a moment like that that made me flash back to the dojo.

A surprising number of musicians can actually hear it. My brother and many of his co-workers at the music store, all talented musicians, can hear electronic devices, even if they are turned off (but still plugged in).
Like you said, there's nothing magical about it, its just that some people have really awesome hearing.

My thing isnt an energy thing but i can tell when i meet people weither they are happy or what have you, i mean not by talking or even looking at them, just by feeling if they are happy. Also when im weak (sleepy, sick, what have you) i feel pain around me, not mine, but like from my neighbors. When i candle shop i will by the candle that doesnt feel tainted (doesnt have a bad feelins in it when i touch it) and the same with a few other things.

I can also tell when some has what i called a dead soul when i was younger. When they gave up hope or something and wont even try to make it better now. I felt so often in high school it made me depressed. But the people thought where trouble and lost (I.E. my friends [i never said i was normal, in high school i was a punker]) always felt like they had more to live for than the others.

It why when some people come in to work i could feel they where going to make me mad or i felt mad when i see them.

I'd actually be curious to encounter this lady, just to see exactly what you're talking about. Probably just my ego, the part of me that wants to be the guy who sees the boogeyman, and picks up a shotgun and yells 'BRING IT!'

I'm the kind of guy who dislikes horror movies where they spend the whole time running. I keep shaking my head and saying 'turn around and fight!

Anyway, realistically I suspect black aura lady would have me curled in a fetal position in a few minutes. :P

Whether you believe in auras or not, or psychic phenomenon or WHATEVER, most living things can communicate things to each other nonvocally, through body language, attitude, etc. We get a huge amount of information from people without saying a word to them, or they to us. Whether this is psychic, or auras, or pheremones, or body language, or whatever, it's there.

Sounds like this lady was projecting some really nasty stuff on the nonvocal channels. I also suspect the OCD theory was correct too.

As for personal psychic experiences... I strongly suspect I have nearly the psychic potential and vast powers of a toaster oven. Not the good ones, either, one of those beat up $15 jobbies you get at the thrift store. I try to keep an open mind (Who am I to say, really?), but I don't see auras, or sense things.

I did have one woman come up to me in a mall and ask if I was a psychic healer, or if my father was, because of something she saw in my aura, but I suspect her aim was off, as I was with two practising Wiccan friends. (They were jealous too!). I've got another friend, who does freaky stuff all the time like predict trends in my life from all the way in Edmonton (I'm in Toronto) who says as far as she can tell, I've got potential, but I'm 'blocked'.

Meh... so I'm a toaster oven than isn't plugged in, I guess :P Personally, I'll leave that stuff to the people who know it, and not be a poser.

Well, since there seem to be several other folks here who seem to have more of a clue on this stuff than I do, maybe someone would like to PM me and help me figure out some things I've been curious about for a very long time. It's too complicated to get into in the space of this thread but I would be interested in discussing it.

Something I wonder, though...which came first, odd abilities, or a job interacting with people day-in and day-out wherein you basically HAD to learn to cultivate skills to be able to "read" things about them, or perhaps being around electronics all day makes you somehow more sensitive to their particular frequencies, etc.?

I don't shop for candles, but I have noticed that I will pass a product up and pick up a different identical box, because of the feelings on the first box. I don't know if it's from other shoppers or a person who helped produce the product.

I get vibes off of people too, if they have a bad vibe I won't go near them and I won't let my children around other children with a bad vibe. Yes, it's hard to explain to my children why they aren't allowed to play with certain children without sounding like a total loon, but my husband backs me up on this, since he has found that I'm right about things like that.

I don't see auras, I just get a feeling about people. The thing that creeps me out the most and sets me the most on edge are the people with the dead eyes. You can see their soul has already died by looking in their eyes.

I do seem to have a calming effect on people who are mentally disturbed or otherwise out of it. I have no idea how I do this or why my presence has that effect on them.

I don't know how I would react to the woman in the OP, since I have never encountered anyone like that and I hope I never do.

They've done scientific studies to measure electrical fields and sensitivity in living things. One thing that has been observed is that people who have "brown thumbs" get a very negative bioelectrical response out of plants just by sharing the same room with them.

They've also observed that if you take a swab of the inside of a person's cheek to collect a cell sample, then remove that sample to a room separate from the person, then introduce a moderate level of pain stimulus to the person, the cells that were swabbed out will also react to the pain stimulus.

Psychic healing (or spirit healing, as I call it) is more a state of being than any sort of active works, and I'm betting people warm up to you easily, you're a great person to be around, and you can defuse bad situations by going on instinct... or, if not, it's because you're lacking the self-confidence to really be yourself around people. As far as 'laying of hands' type psi-healing, you'd probably notice an untrained talent in that area manifesting itself as a talent for massage.

Please, do tell me how close I am since I'm trying to figure out exactly how accurate my intuition is on this kind of stuff.

Sounds like you've got the same sort of Guardian/Healer vibe going on with you I've noticed in certain people (and have been occasionally told I, myself, have), which I'm betting has gotten stronger, along with your ability to spot Wrongness, since you've had to look out for your children's well-being.

Personally, although I'm an atheist, I've always felt like there was something more. I have the ability to calm and comfort people very easily, even by just being in their presence. I've been told I am the calm for anyone around me. I rarely get angry, so maybe it's just that people sense that and draw from it naturally?

Not much to report.
She showed up on Sunday, returned over $100 worth of books and didn't buy anything.
Spent another 3-4 hours in the store, with a basket full of books she didn't buy.
She was sickly sweet nice to the supervisor.
The supervisor got creepy crawly irritated feelings and felt unable to tell her she was banned.
The manager has been trying to call her, but she has no answering machine and doesn't answer her phone.
We think she knows we want to get rid of her, but that we're all terrified of her, and anyone who has resolved to tell her she is banned is oddly never around when she shows up now.
Honestly, I do not believe in auras, but she is definately transmitting some bad feelings, via psychic channels, or whatever you may call them. And my personal irritation with her started before she had even made her outrageous demands.
There are just some people in the world who can make others feel bad just by being around.
