When I was dining in Americaland and Canadaland, I noticed the habit of the waiting staff to come over to ask you how your meal was after a couple of mouthfuls. I became determined to have the bugger eaten by the time they came over.
I nearly managed it once, but they'd apparently supersized me without my request, so there were still a few morsels on the plate. He looked impressed, though.
