Best Buy doesn't really have a layaway policy. We have rain checks if the item you want isn't in stock (and you already have to have paid all or most of the bill before we give it to you anyway). That's pretty much it, though. And we don't hold items at registers because the second--and I mean the VERY SECOND-- we do, usually 10 people run up either 1. wanting the same item or 2. wanting the same privelege.

Quoth BusBus View PostCut the freakin' umbillical cord already, kid. Perhaps his testes never dropped?
I see this with older "kids" (read 19 yrs-26 yrs old...sometimes older) at work all the time. Irks me to hell when I deal with them and they are being babies about everything. Even worse when they bring mummy and/or daddy in with them to do all the dirty work.
*walks away grumbling.....*
I had an 18-ish year old kid wanting me to test a micro-SD card that he had just exchanged the other day. If we had some music to put on his card, we could have tested it. (But it's not exactly kosher with company policy.) But we didn't, and I told him so. He immediately got pissy and said he didn't want to "waste his time" coming back here if it didn't work.
Boo-hoo, pissant. It's not a vital part of your phone and it's something you can test at home. You can go a couple of days without your Kazaa-downloaded MP3's and porn if you can't get back to the store immediately. And a $20 card isn't exactly breaking the bank.A smile is just a grimace that's been edited for public consumption. -- Tony Cochran

Quoth Bella_Vixen View PostYeah, I don't get the whole GC as a reason to get rid of layaway, either. The sad thing is, neither did any of the employees I asked.Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.

Wow, I'm surprised that kid wasn't MORTIFIED to be calling his Mommy up like that in front of others.
Kids these days are way too spoiled and coddled. Waahh! He couldn't get his precious XBox 360 because he didn't have enough money.. get a freakin' job then, damn brat! And yeah, I'll put my money down on the likelihood that the kid will become one of those 40-year-old basement dweller guys that lives with Mommy until she passes away.
