In every English Grammar course I've ever taken, I've been taught that it's a matter of preference whether to include spaces before and after em dashes or not, and NOWHERE have I ever seen that it's correct to put spaces between the dots of ellipses... matter of fact, every style guide I've ever read (and I own six or seven of them, since I used to write or a living) shows the opposite. It also depends on what is being separated by the ellipsis. There are cases where the ellipsis gets its own paragraph altogether, and there are cases where it's attached to either the end of the first clause or the beginning of the second clause. It's not all black and white
