I have been mistaken for an employee at bookstores, music stores, Blockbuster, a few clothes stores, and grocery stores.

Book stores and music stores seem to be a common occurrence for me. I don't look anything like a music or a book nerd (Used to at one point) and I don't dress like an employee for any store. Maybe we do have vibes.

You've only got one? I'm apparently a bloody CLONE TROOPER from the number of doubles I've got floating around.
Okay, ONE of my dopplegangers apparently owns a divey beachside bar in SW Florida.

I have been recognized by many people I don't know for being myself, true, but I have also been "recognized" by many people for being someone else, many, many, MANY times.

      Typical sample conversation....

      THEM: "Hey, aren't you Jerome?"
      JESTER: "No, I'm Jester."
      THEM: "Are you sure?"
JESTER: "Quite. I've been Jester all my life. Never been Jerome."

      Still A Customer."

Along those lines, I constantly, and I mean constantly, have people think they recognize me. I must have many dopplegangers running about.

This one guy insisted that I had talked to him at some Denny's. I told him I'd only gone to Denny's once in my life, and I hadn't seen him there. He argued with me and kept insisting I was the girl he'd talked to at Denny's! He only gave up when he could tell I was starting to get angry, and then I think he still thought I was that girl and was just turning him down.

At any point did they stop to realize what they just asked you and then have a good laugh at themselves?

If not, I think I know why Jerome has fallen out of touch.

Oh, hell, I had a guy one time insisting that he knew me and that I had gone to school in Indiana. Finally told him that I'm a native of NM. And, not only have I never even set foot in Indiana, I've never even flown over it!

I've been getting the "do you work here" thing at work lately. Despite the fact that I'm wearing a name tag and I just asked you if you needed any help! Do you really think other random customers are going to ask you?
