Krispy Kreme must have the worst executives in corporate history, since their product is like glazed crack but the company is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.
The problem is quite simple, IMO - they are AMAZING when hot and fresh, but just not very good when they cool down. And their filled donuts just plain stink.

Next time you go to a KK store, if they are making donuts at that moment, ask the cashier to get you one BEFORE it hits the glaze waterfall. Fresh KKs are wonderful without the glaze - hot, sweet dough.

that the guy buying a small bookcase will show up in a large cargo van to pick it up, the people buying a crib and a changing table will have a trailer, the lady buying a small TV will pull up in a minivan with the backseat thoughtfully folded down (not that it was necessary)...but the couple purchasing a 27-inch TV will roll up in a tiny Hyundai Elantra?
Huh, I never thought of my car as especially "tiny" (the Accent is the tiny one of the Hyundai family) but then I never tried to put a 27-inch TV in it, either. Then again, compared to half the cars people buy these days (like my one neighbor's H3, or the giant pickup on the other side; that guy at least is a contractor of some sort, though his truck doesn't look particularly "worked"), it's positively miniscule.

The closest Krispy Kreme to me is a good half hour drive or more (assuming it's still there). I passed one (well, a sign for one, anyway) somewhere along the Garden State Parkway on my way to Rhode Island last week but I wasn't getting off the Parkway for donuts (I got Dunkin Donuts at a rest stop in Connecticut on my way home instead ).

My Target used to carry Krispy Kremes. mmm...glazed. They don't carry them anymore. The Acme down the road used to carry them too...then they closed.

And I saw my first Tim Hortons, last weekend, too! (Well, again, a sign for one.) I keep seeing people mention it but I've never seen one. It was in either Connecticut or Rhode Island, I forget which (I sorta lost track of where I was on I-95).

Bah... Krispy Kremes aren't real doughnuts... they're pastries... and nasty pastries at that. I call 'em Krappy Kremes. Even hot they're just a lot of air and sugar. A whole lot of caclorie-ridden, flavorless nothing.

The best donuts I've ever had in my life were made by my mom. I like buttermilk doughnuts, and she did a batch one time that was to die for... Man, I gotta have her make some of those up for this year's Christmas baking extravaganza. Just so long as she doesn't sideline the homemade cherry cordials....

As for barefoot stinkywoman, she's walked on far worse than your petshop floor. I'd be willing to bet she made it nastier than it started out.

Not only do we no longer carry them, but the Krispy Kreme store in Green Bay closed and I don't know where any other nearby stores are. Seems they are really struggling. Too bad, because they are the best doughnuts I ever have eaten or ever will eat.
Ahem.....they do have a couple in milwaukee. and you might want to try oshkosh, neenah or menasha...I thought I saw a sign last summer.

Krispy Kreme got wiped out here in Arizona. I think they over saturated the market. You could go to any supermarket or convenience store and they had Krispy Kremes. Nobody really bothered to go to the sotres, so up go the nice closed signs.

Tim Hortons has great coffee though.

              shhhhh......

It's not the coffee, the secret is the cups! The cups add something...

              I swears it....

sorry I couldn't resist, I guess in canada nothing too crazy politically happens, so we resort to conspiracy theories about the nation's coffee.

I love Tim Hortons, I'll take it over Dunkin' Donuts any day. I've never had Krispy Kreme, but I've heard they're like instant sugar coma...

Best donuts every are Cider Donuts from one of the local apple orchards *drooool* it's too late in the year to get them any more
