I just have to ask. What fucking planet did the "woman" (and I'm putting it nicely) come from? You'd think that people would be a little more tolerant of each other now.

Racists aren't exactly rocket scientists. Half the time, they can't even spell the slurs right. My feeling is, even though I *don't* agree with it...if you're going to use those terms, at least get the spelling right. Otherwise, you look like an idiot. Oh wait, my bad

Being the smartass I am, I would have found a way to mess with her. Does she really think that everybody who made/shipped/stocked the product was white? I bet if that was pointed out that someone of a different race *might* have touched it, she wouldn't be buying anything

you could try writing to or calling the local council if you know her name or troop number-she could be repremanded or be stripped of her leadership and have her daughter removed from scouting. The Girl/boy scouts do not tolerate racism.

And NOBODY in the entire store that heard this tirade took the woman's number? Obviously the manager of the store must have known who they were - since the Girl Scouts were selling cookies on his premises, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which troop they were, and hence who the woman was.

Frankly, even if I hadn't known names, I would have reported the entire incident to the Girl Scouts' governing body, and let them figure out who she was, since language like that is unacceptable from ANYBODY.

Incidentally, if she'd tried spilling something like that out over here, she could have been arrested under Section 4 (I think, maybe 4A) of the Public Order Act, Behaviour Likely To Cause Offence or Distress. Yay for the POA.

Down here where I live, she could have been arrested just for cussing in public around children. Yes, that is a civil law still on the books here. One guy got got busted for cussing when he was on a canoe trip and the parent of that child in a nearby canoe press charges. I think his canoe rolled over or he fell out. Can't remember which, but being that the canoe was on hillsborough river, everyone understood why he cuss (that river is filled with gators). He tried to fight it, but he lost. Even the State Supreme Court told him, he's out of luck.

Even if the scout leader never gets reported, I have faith she will launch a tirade in the wrong place at the wrong time and find herself in prison or on the end of someone's fist.

don't they need the store's permission to be out front in the first place? what makes her think she can simply park her butt whereever she pleases without at least asking.

And what makes her think she WON'T run into somebody of another race when she is serving the public? I'm surprised given her conduct the warning signs didn't come up sooner before being selected as scout leader. And what's going to happen when a minority child is added to her troupe? I can gurantee that won't go over well.

Update: The woman was banned from our store, and banned from being involved with scouting, our manager aclled and reported the woman. He also called, Acme(food store) and told them of this woman. they tried to go to Acme to sell their cookies but Acme said "no way" , I am ambivilent about this the kids will probably suffer more than this racist hag, but the kids were damn annoying. Oh, and i beleieve the Girl Scout office also got calls from a couple of disgusted customers. So she won't be influincing any young minds, except her daughter's, for a bit, or at least that's what i hope. But from what i have heard the banishment is unlikely to keep her away from scouting as the soutmaster and her are good friends. oh, well, she won't be bothering US again.
