i am actually using the iphone now, even to post this, and i love it, of course i was able to unlock mine and am not using it with AT&T. If people are really that concerned about it there are websites all over the place that will help you unlock it.

      Here are some details Andara

      http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/windows/s...-os-246447.php

Also. I know that someone once decided to reveal a OSX bug a day for 30 days. He did the first few on time, but I wasn't following closely and don't know the end result of that project.
That's not exactly, well, any data at all. It's just a comment on something Symantec said in March.

And the "month of bugs" thing has been done for a number of different things, OSX being only one of them. Plus, I know that in the first week at least, Apple had fixes out for those bugs by the next day.

        MacOS isn't really safe.

Oh, I know it's not safe.
Okay, I've tried to put up with this, but it's happened in multiple threads now, so I have to ask. Am I just not clear enough with my rhetorical questions/statements? Because people keep answering them, multiple times, usually giving the same answer. And the answer is always what I was basically driving at with the question anyway. Is there some way I can make myself more clear? (Not rhetorical) I mean, I'm all for being backed up on a position, but it seems I'm usually being misunderstood. (See the car rental thread for a good example)

Like Andara said, I'd like to see some data. Just because the words of a friend of a friend who wastes (or makes a living) time on a computer trying to hack a less popular OS doesn't make it fact.

And besides, no computer network is safe. EVER. This ranges from even the most diehard computer geek's setup to the Pentagon's (There was rumors that the Chinese military hacked it and a few years ago a UK hacker broke into NASA's system) All one needs is the right equipment and time. Lots and lots of time.

So case in point, no system is safe. Short of unplugging the network and going back to paper and filing cabinets, the only way is to just take the right measures.

Oh and the UK hacker link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/2456403.stm

And once you add people into the mix, you lose most of your safety. The majority of intrusions are started with basic social engineering.

Okay, here you go, two guys who did it to a MacBook in about a minute in front of observers at the Black Hat conference:

And, to my shock, an entire forum devoted to hacking Macs:

Warning! I have not looked at all the links here, so I cannot speak to the full contents of the site. Some may be NSFW, as these sites get a little...odd sometimes.

I just got told to 'go and fuck myself' by some customer because i told them the phone was only on o2.

                Lovely.

So it was announced almost 2 weeks ago and i have yet to get one sane, nice person calling about this. Every call about the phone has been from some rude aggressive bastard.

You'd swear this thing was the fountain of youth and you have to sell your soul to get it.

Its on O2, its a done deal, get over it, screaming at me isn't going to change this.

(when it comes to MP3 players, I have a Zen from Creative. Buy a media player from a company that builds sound based hardware for years).
I've got you beat for geek, I betcha.

My MP3 player turns into a little robot.

                  As do the headphones.
