Theft and the Dummy

So im working today and there are a few new people in Home E. The other guy (snakebite on these forums) is showing them how to run a credit app and i come to join them as i havent done one before either even though i had been kicking around for years. ANYWAYS we hear a loud crunch from behind the wall and i run over to look. Apparently some guy had RIPPED a whole peg from the wall holding cell phones (since we have a special cap on the peg) and had run out with it. We didnt have a LOss Prevention guy on so we couldnt do much. Snakebite just ran out and said to him 'we wont do anything if you drop em.'

Anywayz little does he know that we keep a record of all our cellphones. All we did was look up the ESN numbers, call the company, reported them missing and they all got de-activated. All he stole was some plastic now =D. Hopefully one of his friend beats him up for selling him a useless cellphone haha.

Unfortunate it still costs our store money though.

We had problems with people stealing phones from closed cases. So we just pulled them. We received dummy phones from the companies that sell their services through us so if they steal that, that is REALLY a useless piece of plastic.

we recently had a HUGE move in home E to set it up as an enclosed area but they havent gotten to putting in the EAS sensors or hooking up the cameras yet so thefts have skyrocketed. I had enough last week and put any cellphone i had on the floor in the back stockroom and made people ask for them. Apparently managment thought this was bad customer service and enjoyed putting them back out. Now we lost a bunch again. department stores....*sigh*
