I'm just glad I work in the business district. No children? No problem!

So maybe we should all get back to the topic.
      I agree.
I don't really think, (or at least I hope), that anyone was really serious about what they were saying, but this is a forum for discussing sucky customers, so let's move on, shall we?

I'm callous, no? Could be the basis of a good sci-fi.

Well, it's true we don't hand our homes or cars over to strangers to take care of for hours at a time, like we do with children. We leave them alone and mostly assume they'll still be where and as we last saw them when we come back.
Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.

I don't quite understand your point.
We expect them to take more care for our children, simply because they are children and not possessions?
There are a lof of children in this world who were abused, molested or neglected by people whom their parents trusted to keep them safe (not to mention the ones who were murdered or died in stupid accidents because the caregivers were incompetent and weren't watching them).

Anyway...I've steered things off topic enough.
The OP was about people who lack common sense.

Children are snatched, in some cases by mentally ill women desperate for babies. They are victimized by perverts. They are sold and ransomed. Sometimes, they are murdered for the hell of it. Sometimes they are just neglected to the point of abuse. And here we have some stupid egg donar leaving her baby with a bunch of people she doen'st even know in public place.

                Nice.

I mean, I am sure you are all fine people and everything, but she doesn't know you. I bet this same stupid cow wouldn't leave her wallet with you. Or her jewelry. But she would leave her precious baby with you.

When my older son was a toddler, I would take him shopping at the mall (any place without a cart to fasten him in, I had a combination seat pad with harness) with either a waist or chest harness attached to a leash. I'm sure most of you have seen them.

Most people just smiled (especially parents). Of course, some teenage girl (clueless and unexperienced) made a remark one day to me about how cruel that looked. I told her that I have my purse on a handle and my child was worth a lot more than my purse. Her friends laughed at her.

The wrist harness worked really well until he figured out velcro.

My mom used one of those wrist things on me until she, um I mean until I was old enough to handle my walking around on my own. I had the velcro thing figured out right away, but she made it bloody clear what would happen if I took it off.
