    That's hilarious.
I also figured travelers checks didn't come in amounts more than $500.
With Credit Cards and Debit Cards nowadays, I still don't understand why people use Traveler's Checks anymore...
I use them as a safe way to carry emergency money. Whenever I travel overseas, I keep my passport (or my drivers licence when I need my passport out), a sheet of paper with all the important numbers and my itinerary, and a bunch of travellers cheques in a ziplock bag in a money belt.

That way, if I'm robbed, caught in a hotel fire, or anything else disastrous happens, I can still manage. Get to a phone, or even better, to an airport or other travel hub, and I have all the information they need to help me get things sorted out. The airline has the actual ticket numbers to reissue tickets, the travel insurance company has my account number, and I still have one of my forms of ID for the embassy. And because the paper also has medical details, if I'm in an accident, the hospital can find out that I'm allergic to penicillin. Preferably before they give it to me.

And because of the traveller's cheques, I'm not broke until it's dealt with.

    1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.
