Okay each casino has a list of what they will dish out to foreign countries for their money. Now, I keep hearing over and over and OVER again about how canada is above us right now BUT that doesn't mean the casinos aren't trying to rip them off.
My casino gives .97. To me thats the best I have ever seen it.
SC: I want to exchange this for US money.
(Holds out one hundred dollars)
I lean forward and look at the exchange rate.
Me: Okay, that'll be $97.
SC: Are you serious!? Our money is worth more than yours right now!
Me: Unforunately I have to go by what it says...
SC: That's a rip off! I can't believe it! Even in (insert different state here) its .99!
Me: ....
SC: NEVERMIND!
She storms off.
Coworker: Would she rather spend a hundred dollars driving there to save two dollars?
I can't help what our casino does. Why didn't she get it there if the rate was better? Or can't people exchange their money in their own place? I always wondered. They can go to a bank, right?
I feel bad for japanese exchanges though. They're like .0008 or something like that to our dollar.
We have a book that shows us what foreign money looks like. I like Euros, they're all colorful and pretty. Like canadian too.
Anyway, this couple brought up the new (I can't remember which one) Euros or england money... We don't have an updated book and my CW had to go into the back and talk to the supervisors about it. They said okay.
Old couple: OC
OC: The other casinos wouldn't take it!
CW: uh, sorry about that... But we ARE so how would you like it?
OC: Why wouldn't they take it?
CW: I don't know... I can't speak for the other casinos... But we are taking it here...
The OC went on bitching about the other places but didn't really pay attention to the fact that we were taking their money... Go figure.
