  • No, you can't have it!

I work at a restaurant, and I hate hate hate opening on Saturday mornings, mainly because I close Friday nights as well, but that's another story.

Anyway, we stop serving breakfast at 10:30, meaning that you can't order anything off of the breakfast menu...period.

    So, the phone rings:

Me: Satan's Eatery, can I help you?
SC: Hi, I'd like to call in an order for pick up.
Me: Okay *readies fingers over the register"
SC: I'd like an egg plate, eggs hard fri-
Me: Oh, ma'am, sorry, but we stop serving breakfast at 10:30 every morning.
SC: What time is it now?
    Me: Almost 11:00.
SC: Okay, well, I'd like the egg plate, eggs hard fried, a side of ba-
Me: Ma'am, we stop serving breakfast at 10:30, it's now 11:00.
SC: I know, that's why I'm calling in the order.
Me: Ma'am, we don't take breakfast orders past 10:30 whether the customer is eating here or calling in the order.
SC: So, you're telling me that I can't order breakfast?
    Me: In summary, yes.
    SC: *click*

    Is it really that hard?

My brain hurts from trying to figure out her logic. She knows you stop serving breakfast at 10:30, she heard this twice, but for some reason, she thought that only applied to those people who are IN the restaurant and not those who are placing pick-up orders. Did she think that you'd do it because no one in the restaurant would SEE the food she has in her bag to KNOW it was breakfast?

      *Ouch* my head hurts.

I can't follow the logic, either...

Probably the same logic that gets people to show up at 9:59 PM for a sit-down dinner at a place that closes at 10:00...
