  • You had to top it, didn't you? (long)

Now this was gonna be a post of me slowly loosing my sanity as I called Special Orders and be subjected to some of the most horrifying answering machines and voice mails. But she had to come in and top it.

This woman comes in to return a fitness book. Okay, no problem, right? Wrong.

The book looks like it was used as a clipboard. So I call over another MOD and get his opinion on it. He says just take it. I then start to take a post it note used as a bookmark out. Oh, she freaks on that one. "I don't want you tearing it up, lemme do it!!" I then notice that there is nothing written on it. Oh joy, this is gonna be good.

So I begin to do the transaction. The other MOD had "signaled" LP and he comes onto the floor to watch the customer. I give her the form to fill out for the cash refund. I can barely make out the chicken scratches but she apparently "wants her $ back." So I pay out her refund, and hopefully she's satisfied.

Wrong again. She is about to leave, when she goes into a tirade over me not giving her a receipt for her refund (um hello, your holding it.) Me and the MOD are looking at her with a WTF look, while LP is positioning himself to intercept the woman should she go completely nutso. She keeps on ranting that she's a meticulous record keeper, that we're ripping her off, and that she won't shop here again. (gee, thats what, 4 customerisms? On top of her being a kook and psychopath?)

I decided to have the last word and tell her out loud "Have a Nice Night." She replies back with an explative. So to add insult to injury and feign not hearing the explative, I repeat myself again, where she goes nuts and yells out "I SAID **** YOU!!!" LP walks behind her to make sure she leaves the store and points out her to a passing Mall Security Guard.

So Me, the other MOD, and LP take stock of the transaction, trying to figure out where the hell it went wrong. We can't find anything wrong with the situation anywhere. I guess that the fitness book wasn't up to her standards (or she royally failed at it; one had to wonder if she used Truedeu's "Red Book"), MOD figures she was a meth-head, and LP guy surmises she was a certified retard.

as an anti-sucky customer-customer - I am one day going to have to sit in your book store just to watch the show...but I will be polite and clean up after myself.

But in all seriousness, I read that 3 times and could not pick where you guys may have goofed up at all - I agree with all assessments of her - she seems to be a kooky-psychopathic-certifiably-retarded-meth-head

She didn't happen to have pink hair and horrendously hairy legs as well, did she?

We used to have a bipolar woman that would come in Wal-Mart and give us all kinds of crap. One time she had some returns, but instead of letting the door greeter put stickers on them (like WM does with all returned items), she went apeshit on her and said she 'didn't want her touching my stuff!' An LP associate came and she behaved fine for them.

After getting her returns marked, she proceeded to sit down on the floor in the foyer area and empty her backpack of various strange objects, a pair of thigh-high black combat boots, and what looked like a packed lunch. Then she put it all back.

A cashier I was good friends with said this girl was a charm to cash out as well. She would never have enough money for what she was buying, and then told D "I will hand you the items I don't want. I don't want you touching the other stuff because you have bad karma, and if you touch my stuff, I'll get your bad karma!"

      D: . . .

Crazy woman: You think I'm insane, don't you?!"

D: *with a very straight face, I might add* "No ma'am!"

I would always pick at her after that and say that she shouldn't tell lies at work

We (Supervisors and management included) would literally scatter when we saw her coming, no one wanted to deal with this person.
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.
