    I've done a fair bit of capping--Chicago used to have a law against those little catches on the pumps. Stupid law, and they finally got rid of it, but for a long time, during those bitter winter months, you had a choice of capping or frostbite.

    OTOH, I also watched the pump carefully, and stayed near the nozzle in case there was a problem.

    As for the public urinators, yeah, get a sprinkler system rigged up with a trigger inside.

      Around here, there's no law against them, but very few stores actually have the little catches. I like them, and if every place in town has the same gas prices, I'll go the one with the catch in the dead of winter.

      I don't cap, but I do occasionaly end up with numb fingers. It sucks... more places should install them >.<
