  • Being helpful has its downsides....

A customer called this afternoon, he was charged a no show charge for not canceling his reservation and for not showing up.

He claimed he called, got "some lady who didn't give her name" and after she canceled it, all she said was "its canceled, bye" and hung up. I hate when people lie like that, and normally, I would call them on it and let them deal with the frustrations of calling the CC company and all that to try and get a refund. However, we have been getting too many lame complaints lately and I didn't want more, so I quickly apologized to him, and went ahead and refunded the no show charge, and offered to mail or fax him a copy. He sounded shocked, because I didn't even question him, I just went ahead and did it (we were busy on that day, but made really good revenue, so its no issue refunding him the charge). He thanked me and expressed how glad he was that this was trouble/pain free.

A few hours later, the turd complained to corporate. I don't think he had reason to since the issue was solved right away. He found out today that he was charged a no show fee, and I reversed it for him today, no waiting. However, not only does he mention that he was charged even though he canceled, but he tells them that I, me, was unhelpful to him and gave him many "hardships" before reluctantly giving the refund.

Is it wrong for me to want to drive to Texas and throw shit on this guys face?

No, but it's more effective to take a dump on his chest.

      Yes.

You should want to do something far worse to him, but settle for throwing shit on his face.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

I didn't want to post anything violent, so I settled on the shit in the face, since it seems bad

And shit on his chest? Sorry, that kind of talk shall remain in the bedroom

you see slick, this is why i'm not helpful, i always pwn it off on some unfortunate front desk supervisor... *looks at slicks title*... oops, sorry.

side note, i hate taking calls for JFK, the people there are out of touch with reality, they refuse to give you a credit card to reserve the room, they refuse to believe you when you tell them all hotel shuttles pick up from the federal circle station, and obviously we are lying about the rates, because no hotel charges that much (clearly they've never been to manhatten).

Ya see.. THAT'S why I'm not doing CS over the phone. I'da called that feeb back, taped the thing and railed into him about lying. When he would inevitably lie to ME about what he said, I'd play it back for Corporate. After editing my cursewords out, of course.

Why? He's suffered enough just living in Texas.

Based on what you did for him, why exactly did he need to complain to corporate?

Because he was bored and had nothing better to occupy his time?

Then again, a trip to Texas would help to occupy your time, right?
