The supermarket where I work sometimes does environment drives; ie, giving away the nice shopping bags which are normally 10p each free. It did this last week for two days, Saturday and Sunday. Now, today I had countless people grabbing at the bags and looking shellshocked when I pointed out that they were 10p each. "They were free last time I came in!" -.- Then I say it was a special one off, and they look indignant. "They should be free all the time!" We have free bags all the time; the ordinary carrier bags. The nice shopping bags however are not free, cuz the money paid for them goes to charity; the amount we would have gotten from the free bag days was donated to charity out of *supermarket*'s profits, so we can't give the bags away free all the time. This small fact tho seemed impossible for certain people to grasp.
