...for grape juice and cider because they came in glass wine bottles (we didn't even sell real booze) .
Cider is booze isn't it? At least it is over here.

Sometimes. Woodchuck and Woodpecker are alcoholic (and carbonated) ciders, but over here, if you just say "cider," most of us think of a slightly spiced, thick, delicious apple juice. Excellent when served hot on a cold day.

Cider to us is alcoholic - over in the Colonies it's prefixed by the word 'hard' when I've seen the alcohol-enhanced version.

We have Woodpecker over here. Back when I wasn't teetotal, I preferred Merrydowns.

I'm a Hornsby's fan myself, but all the bars seem to have Strongbow (which isn't too bad) or Woodpecker (eh).

Lol, I remember that one, wasn't as good.

As for cider, here, it's typically non-alcoholic, so if my manager decidedto start carding for that, I'd think he had a few screws loose. I've heard of Hard Cider, but you can only get that at wine/liqour stores. Otherwise we just sell "Sparkling Cider"

I can't drink apple juice. Too thin. I love fall, because I can get fresh pressed cider from the local farms.

And pour a glass off, let it sit in the hatchway for a week or 2, and make my own hard cider.
