As I was working this morning, I noticed one call for electronics after another after another after another. All people asking if we had Wiis.
They got sent to the guy working back there because he had to follow the script.Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.

I'd say 97% of the calls I get at my store are people asking if we have Wii's in. In fact these days I just include "we have no Wii's in stock" at the end of my phone greeting. I take it as an honor when I get hung up on after that.New England Patirots... FIVE TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!
New England Revolution... Will win MLS Cup one day.

You know what I am so glad I got in line at 9:30 pm back on launch day. It was freaking 18 degrees that night and got as low as 7 degrees, we were not even give our vouchers until 7 am. We stayed all night and never once bitched. Guess how many Wiis I have seen sitting on shelves over the last year? 0, not a dang one!
So yeah I think of it kinda as a badge of honor really.

Want a Wii? I HAVE YOUR WII RIGHT HERE!
...I like my 360 better...
Quoth Bright_Star View PostJust wait till after the holidays. Wii's will be available all over the place by then.Quoth simplyanother View PostThat's what they said LAST year.
And it's true! All year long Wiis have been selling out immediately after arriving in-store, at EVERY store here in Maryland! One of my best friends managed to get one through sheer luck and good timing. He called a Gamestop that's about 5 minutes from his house right after their truck came in. They told him they had just got some in stock, but that they wouldn't hold it. He headed out to the store IMMEDIATELY and picked up the LAST ONE THEY HAD IN. As he was paying for it, at least 2 more people came in looking for it who had also just called the store right before he got there, only to be disappointed because he'd beat them to it!I want a Wii.
I'm just to lazy to actually put any effort in to buying one. If it's not on the shelf or if it requires me to line up before the store opens, I'm just not going to get it. Never mind I really can't afford a Wii, I WANT ONE, dang it! We'll get one, eventually. One day. Probably not until next year though, but we'll get one.
(We'd probably have one already, had they not put Twilight Princess out on Game Cube. )) and the newest installment of Metroid Prime. I'm NOT going to buy a Wii just to play 2 games! I LOVE the Metroid series, I've bought every game in the series (except Metroid Pinball, I'm not much of a pinball fan,) but I WON'T buy a system just for one game! So, no Wii for me until there's more games I actually want to play! And would it kill them to make it BLACK while they're at it? Screw this "White is the new black" BS! BLACK is the new black, mmmkay?
Quoth Brentos View PostI bought a wii this past summer and there were dozens all over the place:-)

I'm looking for a Wii for my roommates and I. Recently made an attempt at a Meijer's this morning but some people were lined up at 9 PM the night before and were willing to wait till 6 AM to get it. Holy crap I want a Wii as much as the next guy but this is ridiculous.
I did hear that Canada has a few of them in some areas, I might have to scour most of southeastern Ontario to get my hands on it and I'm in Canada a lot anyways so um, yeah. The Grand Galactic Inquisitor hears all and sees all.
