Slightly OT, but stereotypes can be such a funny thing. I'm one of the few men in America who hates sports. If I'm going to watch TV, I'd much rather watch a good movie or some kind of documentary on Discovery Channel, Food Network, or National Geographic if I can't find one of my shows (Star Trek, Stargate, The Simpsons, Family Guy, stuff along those lines). If I'm going to listen to the radio, I want music, but I'd rather listen to talk radio than a ball game.

Everyone seems surprised when I mention that I don't like sports, and don't follow the ballgames that all the other guys are watching. On ball game nights, everyone will come in to the store asking if I know scores or stats. Nope! I could care less. The only reason I know there is a game is because everyone else is talking about it, and that's all anyone wants to talk about.
That's amazing, because I myself am not a big sports fan. I will occasionally watch a football game or two, if it's worth watching, but I also am not into stats, scores, betting, etc. I also like movies, good TV shows, hell, even reruns of "Match Game" on GSN.

I guess I am a mish mash of anti-stereotypes, I am a girl, I love computer and video games, I play pen and paper RPGs, I like some sports, i love Star Wars, Stargate, and other somewhat nerdy shows. I pretty much never wear make-up or jewelry though I keep my hair really long. I guess I am an odd duck too lol.

I had a college professor whose name is "Tommy LaShanda". Yep, her first and middle names are not typical of the average white woman. She has been denied jobs because employers thought she was black when they read her application. She has been sent notices about joining the Army because the government thought she was a man.

Thanks. They sound like people worth to know. I'll store those names somewhere.

Here it seems that those ball games are not as popular as in the US. Almost none of my male friends (also fiancé) likes watching it, to the point that if they get a free ticket to a game, they give it away.

Pyxee, I love computers, not so much video games, but almost never wear makeup or jewelry except engagement ring (it's a common practice here, as you get engaged you have one ring and when you marry the wife gets another). My hair is long (it was short 2½ years ago).
A man can be stupid and not know it, but not if he is married.

You sound somewhat like my wife. She tends to be a bit tomboyish most of the time, but can be girly when she wants to be. She works as a geologist for our state, and monitors underground fuel storage tanks at convenience stores and gas stations. She has a master's degree in geology, and loves to play in the dirt. She loves computer and video games. She doesn't play pen and paper RPGs or anything like that, but she likes card games, sudoku and word puzzles, board games, and things like that. She likes the same nerdy shows that I like. The only sport she watches are the Kentucky Derby horse races. She wears little make-up or jewelry, but will wear a few favorite rings and necklaces or paint her nails when she wants. She prefers to keep her hair short because it's extremely thick, but she'll grow it out to almost shoulder-length because I like long hair better than short hair on women.

You sound like me. I'm the nerd with my Star Wars and Stargate DVDs who got all excited when Foxtel started having the Sci Fi channel. I have a DS, PS2 and a PC that I bought just to play games on. Confuses some guys
