  • Apparently our company is shady...

    My company sells books online at a lower price than in store. It's mainly because they're run as 2 seperate companies, and the website doesn't have rent to pay, employees to pay to stand around and be abused, windows to wash, carpets to clean, etc. We explain it, most people get over it.

    So I'm ringing this woman out who starts bitching that a certain book was cheaper online (most hardcover are at least 20% off). I casually explain, she keeps bitching. Offer to return the book and she can head to customer service to "ship to home" the title at the online price. She says fine, manager comes over to return book.

    Manager then goes on and on about how we can't guarantee it'll get there, pissing the customer off.

    Bitchy McBitcherson: "You guys need to get your story straight!"

    Me: "Well, I'm sorry, I made a mistake. I didn't realize the cut off was yesterday." Boiling starting...

    BM (lol): "You really need to get your story straight. Real shady, this company is really shady."

    Most annoying thing: The manger is wrong! The website clearly says if you ship by the 19th (aka, online or ship to home) and it's "ship within 24 hours", it'll get there. So manager made me look stupid, Miss Bitchy spent more money cause she didn't shop earlier and will never return, and only I really know how right I was.

    Urg...
