Love the post as usual Kara. Thanks for the smile.

XCashier...love the rhyme...especially the part about "grumpity grump grump grump..."
I will not shove “it” up my backside. I do not know what “it” is, but in my many years on this earth I have figured out that that particular port hole is best reserved for emergency exit only. -GK

Kara, those stories are great. Not that you had to deal with it (especially the nasty 'baccy juice, ewwwww - my babysitter as a kid dipped snuff & you did not want to look in the coffee can next to her chair), but the way you tell about it.

And the suggestions for your hands all sound great. I also recommend bag balm. That's what saved my hands when working with fabric dried them out.

Oh, I love it. I'll have it my head the rest of the day. But I love it.

I'm sorry, the person to whom you were speaking has been replaced by a recording. Please leave your message at the sound of the beep.

As far as the distribution centers go... I have no idea what they do, but they are huge, drafty, warehouses with slightly better organization of stock (as in, if stuff is on pallets, it's on pallets with more of the same stuff). Those places are big, cold, and dry. Hence all the dust. Yeah, I know, it's nasty, grimy, moisture-sucking black stuff, but eh, what are you gonna do. Gloves with hand cream help a lot, and you are going to want some super-duty hand cream. Try something like Udder Balm or Bag Balm. It's basically glorified vasoline, but it looks nicer in the case of Udder Balm. It's a white cream instead of yellow goo. Those are both made to prevent cracking of cow teats in the most severe of conditions, and it works very well. I used to throw a little extra on my hands when I was done milking.
