  • Ill blow your head off

I had 5 customers in the store last night.

Another walks in and grabs a 50 cent cigar and tosses 50 cents at me. I tell him he can wait his turn. He says huh? I repeat what I said and he again asks huh?

He says "look is it paid for b*tch?". I tell him it is and he can forget about coming back to the store.

He tells me i can't ban him from the store and I ask him if he wants to bet on that and take a step from behind the counter. He asked me if I was going to put my hands on him, I said no, and he tells me he will blow my head off. I tell him that he can tell the police what he just told me and picked up the phone so he left.

He has a surprise coming when he comes in again because I WILL help him out the door.

You should have still called the police after a threat like that. I would have.

Screw waiting for the next time. Write a report, call the cops, have his ass banned if you can. Death threats aren't ever to be taken lightly.

Yup- not too long ago here in town a convenience store clerk was shot while on the job. Sadly, pride is glorified over human decency these days, so he might just have meant it.

When my co-worker found out later he said if the guy had said that to him he would have beat the crap out of him then called 911. I was tempted to.. oh was I...

If I was ever a store clerk I'd carry a piece with me at all times, law be damned. If I was charged, I'd say I quit my job the moment I was threatened and I was merely defending myself as a citizen, not as an employee.

                Call the cops on him.

                Have him arrested.

                For both threatening you,
and for smoking one of those gross-ass 50 cent cigars.

...The cigar might not have been for smoking.

Oh it was for smoking, just not tobacco.

Agreed with the above. Call the police, file a report, & have his ass banned from coming in your store. If you have a camera in your store, give the police a copy of that as well. With your report & the tape, they might be able to catch the jerk.

Agreed. There's actually a no-trespass order out on a guy at one of the larger branches in our system for getting frustrated and(on two occasions) announcing loudly on his way out that "this is why I should be allowed to keep a gun with me!" (The reason for the altercation? He wanted to check out, and didn't feel like going out through a fine, barely-there misty rain to the car for his library card or ID)

If that can get a restraining order, this certainly can, and should. That guy's got no business making threats like that, and thinking he can get away with it.
