I read an article that some areas are considering changing the Gloves requirement. This is based off of that if employees don't feel their hands are dirty they will not change their gloves, hence creating cross continimation. In most areas gloves are only required if you are handling ready to eat food.

Can anyone tell me what the process is when someone makes a complaint to the health department in the US?

      Generally speaking:

Is there a large backlog and the problem will be looked into sometime in a month, or 2 months or as quickly as the next day?

If people say they found something in their food, or it wasn't cooked right, what evidence will the health department ask for from them to substantiate their claim? Will they say, "well how do we know you didn't put it in there yourself?" or "Can you prove that this is their food and not your own (that you substituted to get them in trouble)?"

      Any help on this?

      Thanks

In some areas, it is considered harrassment to take someone's picture without permission. By photographing someone without asking, they may (depending on area) be entitled to sue.

at the pizzapizza place we changed gloves whenever one broke, or if they got dirty, or too wet inside. we always seemed to have plenty so the managers never tried to restrict us. also if anyone had a cut or bandaid, they had to wear gloves.

for the guy with long hair, i don't know who brought it up. the guys wore visors the girls wore ballcaps, until they finally realized that the guy with long hair... his long hair could fall into food just as easily as ours, so he had to pull it back.

cross contamination. yeah. change your gloves if they get dirty, ripped, or if there's different foods that you don't want to mix. especially change them if they get dirty, or if you touch something that's unsanitary.

(without getting too off topic, an old co-worker had something similar at the doctors and a skin infection. gloves were not changed after touching the area, and the doctor actually spread the infection on the poor guy - so yeah, be sanitary with teh gloves)
