Back in the day, myself and a group of 8-15 other people would go to a local family owned restaurant every Sunday and hang out for 3-4 hours. We had gotten permission from the owner, and we mutually laid down some rules.
We used to do a similar thing at our local Denny's - we knew all the waitstaff, and generally tipped more than our respective bills were. Funny enough, one of my guy friends ended up marrying one of the waitresses who used to constantly wait on us. I guess we really were good customers!

Had she interruped my waitperson while he/she was taking my order, I would not have hesitated to tell her to fuck off.
I always relish the opportunity to tell off an SC when I'm a customer, rather than an employee - the joy is two-fold - not only do I get to tell off an SC (and hopefully educate them) I also get to defend a fellow customer service worker who cannot do it themselves, for fear of being fired.

Mother's Day brawl sparked by crying baby
gawd... a fight over a screaming baby? wtf is wrong with people these days.

yeah, screaming at a baby really works. if you're trying to make it scream more...
(how much you wanna bet that mrs smith is the shake-your-baby type). in a way i can't blame mrs jones for putting her fist in the other's face. it's not right....but i'm not surprised.

        and.. .for the OP...
it sucks to have bitches like that as customers... cos there's only two outcomes...
        1) she makes things difficult for you and you take the abuse and lose other customers
        2) you tell her, "Ma'am I'll be right with you once I'm done with these customers." Cos then she'll scream "me first me first, f* everyone else here" which makes things even worse.

only solution i can possibly see is "sorry ma'am, we can't seat you. yes we're refusing to serve you because you're rude and obnoxious." and even that will turn ugly cos it she probably thinks the world exists to service her.

          That does indeed suck.

I've been a customer in restaurants where SCs are letting their children run around. It's not just a nuisance to just about everyone, it's also very unsafe for the children.

One time it happened and it was obvious that after the kids were running around throwing things for 30 minutes, that nobody planned to do a thing.

So we asked our waitress if she could ask her boss to do something about it. The boss came over and we asked him to speak to the kids' parents. He actually looked happy that we complained; our waitress later told us they weren't supposed to say anything unless another customer complained and we gave him the excuse he needed to do something.

As it turns out, the adults who came in with the kids were at a large nearby table where it was obvious they had paid the bill quite some time ago. They had their food packed up and had been chatting since we came in; we honestly had no idea they were with the kids because we never saw the kids near that table until the manager made them sit down.

The funniest thing was that once they had to actually deal with the children they brought with them, they left rather fast and the much nicer folks who had been waiting for that table got to sit.
The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.

The stupid is strong with this one.
