A customer called about something---some horrible craft thing that requires lots of searching, if you don't know what it is. Like beads, paper or yarn.
I asked her if she had any of the product with her, and if she did, if she could read me the number from the barcode. She does! Yay! So, I enter it in the gun, to see where the thing is located "Item Not Found". I ask her to give me the numbers again. Same thing.
I then have her make sure she's given me all of the numbers. "oh yes! I have! definitely"
I gave up on her, and went to search for the product after getting a little bit better description...and found it!
She'd given me all of the numbers---except for the digit at the beginning of the barcode. The hell? And it wasn't even one of those barcodes that will have the inner numbers seperated from the outer two (which can confuse customers).
Blah.
Just bugs the snot out of me.
