One of my favourite sayings: "The customer is always wrong, unless proven right". No, I don't impliment it; I can dream tho, can't I?

Why doesn't the woman go out to outlet stores, or maybe Goodwill or something?

I think you handled that well, I would have laughed or expressed disgust. Not that it was funny, I just couldn't imagine an off the wall resonse like that.
My response would have been the same. Kudoes to the way you handled that. You were very professional.

I dunno, I can think of a good response...

"Ma'am, my sister is one of those "fatties" you're talking about punching in the face because of her choice in clothing. She has hypoglycemia, anemia, and a chronically enlarged heart and so has a few weight problems since she really can't exercise at all. I, on the other hand, bench press 200 pounds and know how to kill a person with two fingers. Also, I have something of a problem wherein I "red out" when someone insults a member of my family. Now what did you say your address was?"

Oh, the things we wish we could say, but can't.

On this site, the customer is never right.
On this site, the customer is neither right nor wrong. But if the customer is on this site anyways, then they probably suck.

I just say that the customer is only occasionally right.
