It does tend to confuse the issue, however. I suspect some of the 'cures' the fundamentalists point to are bisexuals who've found a socially acceptable partner.

I've thought the same thing myself. I'm seen as straight, because I've primarily been involved with men, but I am occasionally attracted to women as well.

In addition, my best friend in the whole world (E) is gay. He came out to me our freshman year of high school, and it was adorable. We were at a drama overnight, and all snuggled in our sleeping bags, he goes: "You know how C really likes Sarah Michelle Gellar? Well, I really like Brian from the Backstreet Boys, in the same way." I thought it was so cute. His father is actually also gay, he was married to E's mom and had two kids, then realized that he didn't want to be married to a woman. They all live in the same area and still have dinner and such, which I think is really cool. Also, I've promised to E that I'll bear his children, or at least donate the eggs, so we can have beautiful babies together without teh sex.

My wife's male cousin is apparently one of those. She told me he actually went to a lesbian bar trying to get a date. I can't even begin to count all the things that are wrong with that idea.

A few months ago, and I'd be with you on that.

However, having met a girl who found her current boyfriend on a gay and lesbian chat room, apparently it can work. Of course, said girl who swore up and down that she was a lesbian while dating a man, was no doubt confused as to her own sexuality, as well as a great many other things.

Suffice to say, if I never have to see her again, I will die happy.

But yes, it's outliers like this that will continue to convince men that they can turn lesbians bi, if not straight.

Gee I was under the impression that 14 still fell under the age of growing up and learning about ones self. Didn't think it was the age at which all important life altering factors were determined.
Also, I could be wrong but it sounds like it may be a home with Mother, daughter, and son . . .very little to no male influence. I dated someone from the same type background . . .the Mom kept trying to ask me personal questions cause she was sure her son was in denial about being gay. Trust me he wasn't gay . . .had no problem with anyone living a lifestyle different from him - but he wasn't gay.
Apparently all the estrogen in the house gave him some habits that the Mom viewed as very female. Like doing dishes, cleaning house, sewing on his own buttons (not making an entire outfit)
He also knew about hair and clothing for women . . .just had a good eye.
Last I heard he was dating a former beauty queen and they were very happy together.
