It's going to be interesting to see how the Wii is recived here in the us. The one thing I see going against it is the controller. I suspect, that this is going to alienate (well that and the insane cost) many of their users. That said, if Twilight Princess (the next zelda) comes out on it...I'll need a loan from ditech.

Actually the Wii will be the least costly next gen system. Latest figures project 200 USD in the States or 200 Euros in Europe (why do they always shaft Europe?). I haven't heard other figures, but would guess they'd be similar. These are based officially announced goals for upper pricing limits.

It's been officially anounced that Twilight Princess is going to be released on both the Wii and the Gamecube. The Wii version will have superior graphics and has Wiimote functionality integrated into many play features.

I bet I had a video game "system" none of you have even heard of
It was so unusual that when I tried to sell it even most video game collectors had never heard of it...I still got over $100 for it but I think due to it's rarity I might of gotten much more if only more people had known it was available
I'm not sure whether it's Blip, Vectrex, or something else you're describing...I know Toyriffic in Maplewood, MN might just have that obscure video system you're describing.

what video game systems do you have?

wondering if this should be its own topic:

        what consoles do I have:

        2 Atari 2600 (1st & 2nd generations)
        1 Nintendo 8-bit
        1 Super Nintendo
        1 Sega Genesis
        1 Sega Nomad
        1 Nintendo 64
        1 Sega Dreamcast
        1 Nintendo GameCube

(and now, tempted to find more systems on eBay... )

Don't be mad. It's like buying a Geo and expecting a 20,000 trade in. When you buy a game that is put out anually you should know to hold on to it or to trade it in for 3.00 when the next one comes out. Unless it is an RPG or a platform that has a high level of "play it again", then don't cross your fingers. Nothing is worse than someone that wants something for nothing, i.e. a dreamcast game for Dead Rising

I remember when Mom bought us our Atari 2600 (first edition) and we were thrilled (I was in my 20's and I loved it.) We took turn playing like good kids and we'd buy any new game that came out. Eventually we had over 100. However the sharing didn't last and fighting soon broke out and we were grounded from the Atari. That was nearly 25 years ago and we're still grounded. When Dad passed away we found it and all the games in a foot locker in the closet and it still worked. I just wish Mom would come off the grounding.

Gawd, this makes me feel like a total game-addled freak... or it would if I didn't consider myself a collector.

Pong (one of the first that attatched to a TV by screwing onto the antenna pieces in the back, runs on C batteries)
              Atari 2600
              NES
              SNES
Sega Genesis with Sega CD and 32X
              Nintendo 64
2 PSX (1 mini with LCD screen, 1 modded for imports with a clear blue case... purty.. )
              Gameboy color
              2 GBA
2 DS (never got the Lite. My hands are too big for it. )
              PSP
              Gamecube
XBOX (HEAVILY modded with a bigger HDD.. For erm.. music, really! )
4 PS2s. (2 old models with HDDs installed to backup our rarer games so we can keep the discs nice and safe, one slim attatched to our living room TV, and one slim with a nice LCD screen attatched to it)

Okay, maybe I just have spent WAY too much on games...
