Around 10 am today (yes that's ten in the morning) I had a loud and obnoxious customer. On the way into the store he threw an empty beer can at the rubbish bin.
When he payed for his fuel he demanded I give his card back before I'd even swiped it through the reader but he settled for snatching it from my hand after he entered his PIN.
I then saw him go out to his car, where he got into the driver's seat and opened another beer. Then drove off without doing up his seat belt.
I was going to report him to the police, but then a cruiser happened past in the opposite direction. They must have seen him because they did a quick U-turn and pulled him over. We suddenly got really busy so I didn't see much of what happened after that. By the time things got quiet enough for me to look again, the cruiser was gone but the drunk's car was still there (and it was still there when I finished my shift at 1pm)
Actually I had a few drunk customers this morning, but this was the only one who was driving. Most of my drunks are the fun kind who do things like buy a dozen packets of cigarettes or leave $10 on the counter and say "I don't want this any more, you take it".
