Short story but I made it a long post....
...this wasn't too sucky...but it was enough to get my feet wet again on phone suckitude.
Where I work is a 24/365 (366 on leap years) call center that provides emergency roadside assistance - 24/7 - that means we are open all the time and even on holidays. Why? Because roadside emergency are not limited to banker hours. People can break down at all hours of the day and days run 24 hours. We all know this, right? Anyway, I digress...
I don't know how many people are mid-westerners...but if you are, especially Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa...you know that this winter has been particularly sucky. In Wisconsin, they are having the "worse winter in 100 years"...according to Good Morning America. This doesn't stop people from living life...this also doesn't stop people from thinking they can go baha-ing through 5 ft snow drifts in a 92 Ford Crown Victoria...that is actually another story all together...this one is a minor sucky one..
ME: Lovely driver turned dispatcher...again
SEWW: Sucky entitled woman in wisconsin
Her service was running 3 or 4 hours late as all calls in Wisconsin are due to the freakin winter weather. This particular area had a lot of accidents yesterday.
ME: Hello, I was calling to inform you that your driver is completing the call ahead of you and will be on his way to your location in about 30 minutes.
SEWW: WHAT?!! How can ANY CALL be ahead of ME?!! I called at 8 o'clock this morning.
ME:
Well, we are open 24 hours, it is possible that there are calls ahead of you.
SEWW: I called at 8. This is (Oh, boy, I haven't heard this in awhile...brace yourself) ridiculous!!!!
Yes, and in banker time, that would have placed you early but this is another plain of existence called emergency roadside assistance and that plain of existence never closes!
I know, not that sucky, but it was my first sort of sucky call since I've been back.
