This happens a couple of times a day, but tonight more than usual which is why I'm posting about it now.
SCs on the forecourt try to have conversations with me. From at least 10 feet away. Through inch-thick bulletproof glass.
Most of the time I make an "I don't know what you're on about" expression and they come in and get pissed off about the fact that I can't here them mumble from 10 feet away through bulletproof glass. Sometimes I write notes and hold them up and the SCs get pissed off about the fact that they have to come into the store to continue the conversation.
Tonight I tried Auslan (I signed "what are you talking about?") and the SC came in and got pissed off about his inability to understand sign language.
And each and every time it turns out they're asking about something they'd have to come into the store for anyway, it's not like standing there yelling and/or miming (I thought mimes were meant to be silent) achieves anything.
