Sorry, but I'm gonna have to go with "If you care, mention it upfront."
Agrees wholeheartedly. If you mention it to me before I seat you, I don't mind quite so much. But if I've put your menus down on your table and THEN you point across the restaurant and go "Oh, can I have that booth there instead" that's when I get irked.

I'm sorry, I have to call some suck on this one. If I want a booth and they are available, then there is no reason I should not have one. I'm sorry that a server that has tables has no business, but thats part of working there. If there are no booths, I have no problem sitting at a table however.
Yeeeeah, I can't agree with this at all.
Hosts and hostesses do their best to divvy up the customers between sections so that one server isn't run ragged while others are forced to twiddle their thumbs for hours on end, all because the furniture the customers are sat in isn't to their liking.

I used to have servers scream at me when I'd double or triple seat. It's not my fault all the customers wanted to sit by the damn windows.

when I'm at a restaurant I'm there for the food, not the seating arrangements-just sit me where there's a server to take and bring me my order in a reasonable time(reasonable for me is 10-15 mintues to take the order, and 30-45 to receive my food)-the only time I've ever complained to a manager was for being spineless and comping a meal-
The table next to us has the same server-they took forever to order and then complained that they had to wait "sooooo long to get their food". Well if you don't order for 45 minutes you probably won't get your food in under an hour

what actually ticked me off was they pulled the-"I have a newborn at home with a babysitter and I have to pay them more now-because I was only going to be gone for an hour"

          WTF?

He comped most of the meal-after he left the "mother with a newborn" laughed about how that always worked and she never paid for a restaurant meal.

          Evil scammer.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes
