Shame shame Central Reservations! I can understand if you are accepting overflow calls, that makes sense. We do not have that service, however. But yeah it does get frustrating when we never have a room type come available & guests claim they were "garanteed" that room type through central reservations. Mostly, though, we don't have a lot of issues with central. It's travel agents that really piss me off, cuz they are only after their commission & don't have to deal with a guest when they just book them in whatever. They are criminals
We are told to check rates at check-in because we have a rating hotel scoring system that gets sent out to guests, and if they score us low (like in accuracy/speed of checkin) we get bad scores. Our scores affect our inspections, so we do whatever whenever we can...even if that means always asking about discounts.
