We sometimes get calls saying "Oh have I called a business? Wrong number!"

How many times do I have to tell you NOT to play with knives in the house?
That reminded me of a video I saw somewhere about teaching methods. One was that rhetorical questions suck, and you can get teachers to stop asking them by giving them a kid who always answers them.

Who do you think you are? Batman!
How many times do I ahve to tell you...? Fourteen. No fifteen. Fifteen. Maybe sixteen.

Our home phone is one number different than a local crisis hotline. We used to get the misdials for this number. Most of the time the caller accepted the correct number and called it (I guess). One time my wife answered, and told the woman she had the wrong number. The woman said she was considering suicide and that since she can't even dial the suicide prevention number correctly she's going ahead with it. My wife told her not to and talked to her for a while. After a half hour or so, the woman said that since a complete stranger was willing to talk to her, maybe things weren't so bad after all. Sometimes wrong numbers turn out OK.

        Isn't the amulance 911? (or 999?)
Normally yes, but I think this was more of a hospital transport thing than an actual emergency.
