This just stringthins my stance on how SC's are sheep. If all those people decided to take the 1000 then then cool. I dont understand why everyone needs to become an entitlment whore when they arnt the ones that won the pize. It sounds like the owners tryed to do the responsable thing with out going under. And thats ok if they booted you. You always have a home here with the non sheep!

Just a reminder that we have a policy here that says:
While the members may not be naming this board when they cross over to post on that blog, the very fact that someone may have posted in a thread on our site and incited others to band together and go post wildly in retaliation, could be taken as starting crap on another board.

      I agree.

That is another reason why I won't name the blog.

But I will be more to discuss their shortcomings.

where the middle class mooing herds ....... while the rest of them were ranting about how the manager of whatever store needed to be drawn and quartered for failing to anticipate their need for something foolish, like extra chocolate bunnies moments before Easter.

      Yep, you know the type.

Would you consider IMing the blog? If so I'd be interested. As a business owner I try to keep up on the various scams people try.

I had someone threaten to kill my dog this morning on another forum.

Because I stood up for myself and told him "if you don't like it, don't read it" in regards to the off topic thread there.

He didn't take me reporting him to the mods too kindly.

I had someone on *this* forum threaten to kick my ass after I stood up for some of the lovely ladies (one of whom was local) after he'd threatened them. And yes, I did tell him to "Bring it on!" Strangely, he didn't

I always find it amusing that people can be so threatening on message boards, yet often don't have the balls to do that in real life. It must be the anonymity of it all

Oh yeah! Well my web browser can beat your web browser up!!
Just because a customer expects you to put some effort into your job, that does not make them an SC.

I cant stand to read "Pro Consumer" blogs. I find the lack of understanding (and ya know.. basic humanity!) disturbing and not a little sad. The fact that people congregate and work out ways to screw over other people and consider this an OK thing to do with their time...Its just sad...

I don't really know any pro-consumer blogs except consumerist, and I must say that while I read this site, they're my favorite. I did retail for a long time, I know how to treat retail workers and I know a SC when I see one.

That said, retailers have gotten WAY out of hand. I have had more problems at stores, be it with rude employees or some other type of problem, in the last year than I ever have in my life. I have been fighting with a certain computer company for 2 months over compensation for something they screwed up no less than 5 times, lied to me about, and caused me to be out $1,000 over. I have spoken to call center reps who refused to identify themselves, gave me incorrect information, yelled at me, swore at me, and more (though luckily one of them was recorded... I've never been apologized to so much after they reviewed that tape!).

Of course, I'm not saying that all employees/stores are like that. 99.9% of the stories I read on here remind me why I got out of retail in the first place. But just remember that sometimes, it IS the employee/store that's in the wrong, they're just too rude/stupid/mean to realize it or care.

To back up what Ree just said, something like that did happen a couple years ago. We got invaded by one troll after another. I banned more people in that one day than in the rest of my years as a mod. It was fun at first, but it got annoying pretty quickly.

We later tracked it down to another message board, where one of our members apparently pissed off a bunch of people and mentioned our name.

Back to the original topic, would you really want to be a member of a board like that?

I am sure I have earned my own SC wings at one point or another.

                              One of my mottos is

"The customer is always wrong, it is up to you to explain why".

I kinda of use that motto whenever I am the customer. If the seller can explain why I am wrong I can move along and accept the fact that I am wrong.
