Had a customer come through my line today, with a cart full of multiples of items.
She immediately tells me it's tax exempt, which is fine by me. She then tells me she got the okay from 'some guy' to get the items on her tax exempt transaction for the sale price for next week!
R: "Which 'Some guy'?"

I look, it's the SM. "Uh, okay... FES S, can you come help me here? There's no way I'm repricing thirty items by hand."
S comes over and gives me her keys, and shows me how to reprice multiples, and I start scanning. Woman slides her card, finishes transaction. I give keys to FES H (shift change right then.) and turn back to woman, who still has a cart load of crap. "And now?"
"I have nine coupons. And these are supposed to be 30% off next week."
R:Come back next week, then. "I can take Three, and they have to be on separate transactions."
"What?"
R: *repeat, with S standing nearby*
"Well, I'll just... do this..." and she pulls nine items out of her stack, after I'd already scanned half the stack. I'm already confused as to what she's trying to do...
R: "I can only do 3 coupons, in consecutive transactions. And, if you're using the sale price for next week, it won't even let me do THAT, as they'll be on sale, and the coupon will be invalid."
"No, I just want these..." *indicating the ones I've already scanned* "On sale, and these..." *indicating the ones she pulled out* "With coupons."
R: "Again, 3 coupons, not 8."
Yergh...
Took another ten minutes to complete, and, on her way out she says, "Sorry for being a nuisance."

Note to self: Next time, call SM up to register to confirm offer. Make him ring her out.

Because some places announce the sale this week. Interest of being fair to customers, keeping the returns down (so they can rebuy at the sale price), because inventory is being planned around the sale so inventory levels might be rather low at the moment. AND to screw with the competition.

When some SC can't even bother to learn the name of the person who they claimed okayed a deal, then call that person and ask them YOURSELF!

SCs LIE!
SCs can't read what the flyer really says.
SCs hear what they want to hear.

Always confirm that a manager made such a deal, I am betting even with today's wimps 90% they never did.
