That's when you phone someone (either police or government insurance) and tell them that "The little audio shop down the road" is illegally hooking up dvd players.
Oh, yeah. Definitely rat out that "little audio shop." I sure as hell don't want to be on the road with anyone they've "hooked up."

I would suggest books on tape, except it's usually just one person doing all the voices.

If you can find them, there was a great audiobook version of Wendy and Richard Pini's Elfquest that had seperate actors for almost all the voices & narrator. Good luck, though. Unless its been loaded on the net (and if it has, link me please! ), its way out of print now. I think they did two of them, but I could be wrong there.

They're not actually doing anything illegal. It's against the law for a driver to have a working video screen in his field of view while the vehicle is in motion, but it's not illegal for a shop to install a system that can be used in this way.

Similarly, it's not illegal to install sound equipment that's capable of violating noise ordinances, or performance enhancements that help the vehicle exceed the speed limit. It's all in how you use it.

My company has a policy against bypassing safety features because they want to avoid bad press, and liability in the event of an accident, not because we'd be violating the law if we did it.

The exception comes when a shop tampers with existing safety equipment. The installation shop featured on the show "Pimp My Ride" was fined a couple years ago, for removing steering-wheel airbags and replacing them with video screens.

I'm a huge fan of audio books. I'm currently listening to the Belgariad from Audible.com in my truck.

If you google it, you'll find some copies of the audio books around, but most of them seem pretty expensive.

I did come across this however, which is pretty cool, because I liked what little I read of Elfquest when I had the chance, but never was able to keep up with them.

To get back on topic, most after-market shops will refuse to bypass safety features for fear of liability problems. I tried to get a remote started installed in my pickup, but since it's a manual transmission, they wouldn't do it.

Why did I automatically think he wanted to watch porn while he was driving?

I guess that is a new way to 'drive a stick'.

That gives new meaning to the old slogan for Pontiac (at least that's who I thought it was): "We Are Driving Excitement"

                Or Volkswagen: "Drivers Wanted"

Unless he means "someone in the car can watch movies while I'm driving." To me it's like a someone asking "how can I iron my shorts while I'm still wearing them?"
for shorts completely cover them in water - use almost too hot to drink setting (like too hot coffee) ... (yes it works no its not a good idea :P)

Well, Volksvagen's old slogan was Farfegnugen, which means "driving pleasure" and is slang for "joyride."
