Ok, we close at either midnight or 1am, depending on the day...
and when I say we CLOSE at that time... I mean it... WE CLOSE.
NOTE: Wednesday night you can buy individual games, since we have a special deal (25 cent games)... this allows people to take their time, and sometimes they go past 1am.
I have seen my manager turn the lanes OFF on people, on Wednesday nights.
We are NOT like a restaurant, you cannot bring 10 people in 10 minutes before close, and expect to bowl... we are not staying late just because of you.
We have a cut-off time, it's 15minutes before close. So if we close at midnight, there is NO more bowling after 11:45. This gives us time to sort things out for the night, and gives us a little fudge room for the customers that are there.
It's actually kinda nice...
but people still don't understand this concept.
They come in at 11:30
SC: "One hour and 2 shoes."
Me: "We close at midnight, so the most I can charge you for is 8 minutes, that'll allow you to go until 11:45."
They get a free 7 minutes by default, it's how the system is set up.
SC: "Why?"
Me: "We close at 12, and 11:45 is the cutoff time."
SC: "Is it still the same price as the hour?"
Did I not just say I'd charge you for 8 minutes..
Me: "No, it'd only be like $4, I won't even charge you for the shoes."
SC: "So we can only go 8 minutes?"
Me: "You get an extra 7 minutes, so right now you can go for 14 minutes."
A minute passed by this time.
SC: "Oh well, that's not worth it..." *walks away*
Of course it's not worth it to come into a place right before they close...
Or we get the people who get angry with us.
We used to be a different company, and the place was open 24 hours. However, it came under new management and now CLOSES.
SC: (raised voice) "Since when do you close!?"
Me: "Since about 5 years ago."
SC: "Oh....."
