  • Special Order

Working in a bookstore, you sometimes once in a great blue moon get requests for titles that are....not of the norm. And the hilarity/misery it entails.

I doubt the DEA is monitoring our buy lists

So a guy comes in one day and asks if we have any books to grow Cannabis. I tell him we don't and that we would need to special order them.

Customer: "Um, well.....do you need an address?"
Me: "Address, Phone number...the whole nine yards."
    Customer: "Do you need them?"
Me: "Yes, so that we can tell you that your books have come in."
    Customer: "Do you really...."
Me: "I don't care if you have a record, the company doesn't care if you have a record, so long as you don't try to assault me, rob me, or say anything sexual, your in good graces with me and the company."

The Seductive Art of Sex Books

One of the AM's encountered a Special Order of 5 Sex Books. I can only recall two of the authors: Midori and (Forgot first name) Manning.

Someone was going to be lucky that day.

Hmm, I wonder if our library has books on growing cannabis. I've seen books for pecans, onions, etc. We might have, but it might have been stolen the same time as our Anachist Cookbook and Pimp by Iceberg Slim.

Sex books don't last long. I took one home by DK, and that night Tropical Storm ******* hit our city, which did about the same damage as Katrina did to New Olrean, except the water drained faster. I had to bring back the water-logged book and say "The flood did it."
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

      I wish porn had subtitles.

except for the pimp cane-that could be myself and Mr. Katt-we have been accused of being related-usually respond with "yeah by marriage"
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

Maybe, maybe not, they might just like the art and stories. While like any porn the stories are weak, Michael Manning's art is quite interesting, his style developed from seeing erotic Japanese wood carvings, very different than what you usually see, you just have to like or be tolerant of fetish work. Here's a link about him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael...(fetish_artist) and here's a link to some of his less objectionable art: http://images.obsessionart.com//imag...MM_MM004_L.JPG

I would think books on growing Cannabis would be illegal... at least in the US, though I'm sure High Times magazine would have some fun tips...

Midori is a fantastic writer, & really good with advice on sex & kinky stuff...

I work part-time at a sex toy shop, so I get to read some of her stuff on my downtime. More on that later! *^_^*

Actually, I'm fairly certain that the whole Freedom of Speech thing protects the right to publish such information. And the advent of the Internet makes everything more interesting, since the US isn't the only place with servers and hosts.

Heck, here's the results when you search for growing cannabis on Amazon!

B&N carries a few...they're in the Gardening Reference section...

They also carry High Times, Cannabis Culture, and Heads magazines

High Times even puts out an annual seed guide issue.

I was gonna say that too. If a bookstore can carry a magazine like High Times, then it can certainly carrying gardening books about it!

I can tell you that Barnes and Noble sells books on growing cannabis. I was rather surprised to find one when I was looking for a home improvement book for my Mom's christmas gift. For just a moment, I was tempted. Really, really tempted, just to see how she'd react.
