Yesterday, a customer wanted 2 rolls of quarters. Since we can't give rolls of quarters out anymore, I told the customer that we couldn't spare any rolls. The customer wasn't happy and mentioned that he needed them to do his laundry. I got the money from him so I could see if I could get him the quarters.
My service desk coworker wanted to know what was going on when I got into the cash room and I told her. She mentioned that we weren't allowed to sell rolls of quarter and I told her that I told the customer that.
I relayed the news to the customer. He wanted the person who said that we couldn't sell quarters to him so I got my service desk coworker and she took over.
The customer mentioned that he shopped in the store all the time and my service desk coworker told him that his not getting the rolls of quarters had nothing to do with that. She explained that we didn't have enough quarters to spare since we don't get as much change as we used to. I was working in the cash room while she was talking to the customer. She allowed him to have a few dollars in quarters and eventually the customer left.
