Longtime lurker, first time poster.
So I work in a craft store, primarily in the yarn section. One customer comes in sporadically, and she's a bit of a diva-expects me to search through stock for her, carry her purchases around, etc. Not a problem, as I'm getting paid to work there.
So yesterday I'm in another craft store (not even closely affiliated with mine) that's having a big sale, looking through the patterns as such, just minding my own business.
I happen to see Diva Customer (DC) there, and I say hello. She immediately pulls out a piece of yarn, and tells me she wants to find a pattern to make a short sleeve sweater with it. I start thinking that she must assume that I work here, so I say something along the lines of, "Well, I'm here checking out the sale too, so maybe if you find SOMEONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS HERE, they can help you." She looks slightly confused, then wanders off.
I continue looking through the patterns and set aside a few I like, when along comes DC, who proceeds to pick up my pile and start rifling through them. She then has the nerve to say, "None of these are what I'm looking for!"
Ummm, yeah, they're not what you want because I'm not shopping for you. I tried to politely tell her that the patterns were for me, not for her, and that she'd have to look for herself. This seemed to get her knickers in a twist and she left the store in a huff.
When I went to pay the woman at the till laughed, because it's a small store and she'd seen everything. Turns out DC acts the same way in there too. At least she's consistent.
