That in itself was very very helpful but she mentioned that she sometimes spent the first week or two with new parents helping them settle in. Is that something all Doulas do? I remember for us it was a huge realization that you are holding this small baby and not 100% sure what to do or what is best and having a helping hand (in the form of a friend who had a 1 year old) was greatly appreciated
    Not all Doulas do that. Those are Postpartum Doulas. There's a lot of different kinds of Doulas out there... I'm a Labor Doula. There are Doulas who specialize in breastfeeding, after delivery care, childbirth education, etc...
