If he was able to get so many "free drinks from the other restaurant", then why the hell didn't he just stay at that freaking place then?

Love the bit about the application form... Really puts the guy on notice!

My wife and I always try to leave our table in at least a waiter/ess friendly configuration. Everything stacked, garbage collected, and tip ready. One trip and the table is back in service! I think it's only common courtesy, make their job just that much easier.

I go as far as wiping up messes and stacking up dishes at my own table, but that's it. Having worked dining room at Wendy's before, I remember how much I hated the slobs. So, I don't inflict that on anyone else.

Other than that, the only time I help clean up messes is when I have an accident because I do seem to be accident prone. I'm always inadvertently flipping my utensils or plates off the table. Then, there was the time I accidentally walked backward into a waitress with a full serving tray because I was talking to someone I knew at a nearby table. *sigh* Yeah, I'm an accident waiting to happen sometimes, but I will help to clean up the messes I cause.

Most restaurants, I'll wait until they've cleared our stuff away beforehand and I always make sure that it's in a friendly configuration for them. and no, I never ask for free food/drinks for it.
