i got pretty pissed off at this lady, so if youre easily offended, just skip it altogether or ignore the last sentence.
quiet as hell thursday night. S and i are at info, i head over to manga to do a little maintenance. info is less than 10 feet from me. i sat on the floor so i could reach the bottom shelves. suddenly a rather large woman with a limp barrels up and starts shouting "IS THERE ANYONE AT INFORMATION?"
i look around and dont see S. woman sees me and and shouts "ARE YOU IN INFORMATION?"
dude im sitting right here, no need to yell. "yeah hold on, let me get up off the floor."
"well if the girl up front had done like i had told her there would be someone here already."
i ignored her and said "what can i help you with."
"i want a new copy of this. i just returned it because the battery was dead (it was some sort of sound story book). i dont know why you sold me a defective copy and why can't you give me a credit for a new battery? and why dont you have benches for the handicapped?"
wtf. "well, we dont have this in the store anymore, can i order you a new one?"
"what do you mean you dont have it? you didnt even look."
"the computer is telling me we don't have it."
"go look."
"maam, it says zero."
"customer service leaves something to be desired these days."
holy shit, and the gate between my brain and my mouth stopped working and i said "well, sometimes customers leave something to be desired these days."
she kinda looked at me funny, and i said, because i needed to get out of there before she started screaming again, "let me go look just to make sure."
i come back two minutes later to find her still complaining to S, who came back, and A, the cashier who originally helped her. she was still going on about benches.
"nope, we dont have it but i can order it and itll be here in a week." and i got her information, and the whole time she's still bitching about A not calling anyone over here immediately (because the ten seconds she had to wait for me to get off the floor were too long) and about there not being benches.
"well, we'd like to have automatic doors, but that aint happenin' either, so..." i said, and she finally hobbled away, grumbling. i noticed at that point she walked with a limp because she had an artificial leg.
i told S and A that i wanted to roll up and just kick it out from under her for being a douche.
