SC:*hands me a 20*
ME:"OK, your change is $7.90, have a great day!"
SC:"That's not right, I handed you a 20!"
ME:"Yes, and your total was $12.10, and I gave you $7.90 back."
SC:"That's not right!"
ME:"Ma'am, what isn't right?"
SC:"It's not right!"
ME:"Ma'am, $12.10 plus $7.90 is $20."
SC:"Well how much was my hot food?"
ME:"$7.13."
SC:"How much were the strawberries?"
ME:"$2.99."
SC:"But that's not right! I only got that and some water!"
ME:"Ma'am, what, precisely, isn't right?"
SC:"It's not right!! The strawberries were supposed to be $3."
ME:"Yes, Ma'am, $2.99."
SC:"How much was the hot food?"
ME:"7.13."
Eventually a co-worker took her aside and added it all up for her so I could continue checking.

SC:"Is this $1.76?"
ME:"No sir, it's half price, so it's $3.14."
SC:"So which one's $1.76?"
ME:"I don't know sir, but according to the paper there's a half price sale on that brand of ice cream, ranging from $2.49 to $3.14."
SC:"But the sign said $1.76, which one is $1.76?"
ME:"Are you sure it was for that brand of ice cream?"
SC:"Yes, the sign said $1.76."
ME:"Alright, the paper says $2.49 to $3.14, but I'll check with a co-worker."
<CW comes over>
SC:"There's a sign over there for this ice cream for $1.76, which kind is $1.76?"
CW:"Well, that ice cream's on sale for $2.49 to $3.14, but our store doesn't carry the smaller one."
SC:"Oh, yes, $2.49, that's what I meant."
