Today, the register system went down twice. The first time, before the system went back up, a customer tried to buy a paper. He didn't have the exact change. I asked him if the paper cost the amount he was paying with and it was less. I informed him that I wasn't able to ring up anything. He told me that he owed the money and took the paper without paying.
Luckily, the store director was in the area at the time. I informed him of the situation but he wasn't able to catch the customer with the paper.
