        There should be room for compromise.

        I approach it like "the situation is X and I was hoping we could do Y to fix it" if I can't have that, I'll usually settle for some alternate options.
        "If we refund your money, give you a free replacement and shoot the manager, then will you be happy?" - sign seen in a restaurant

          I saw something similar. This one actually encouraged the reader to tell the employee what do to in order to get "better" service.

          I swear, everytime I read one of those things, I wince and wish I could correct them, but even if I could, it's already too late since several thousands of people have already read it.
