I love the "we/I pay you/your wages line." Yeah, until I see you sign my paycheck and/or the direct deposit funds come from you bank account, <company> pays me. As such I will follow <company's> polices and guidelines, not yous.

A former coworker of mine had the best response to the "I pay your salary" EW crap.

EW: "My membership [fee] pays your salary!"
CW: "Can I have a raise?"

If I were in "I don't give a crap" snarky mode when someone pulled that "I'm going to tell everyone I know not to shop here" I'd probably go "What? Both of them?"
