  • More stupid kids

Because of the holiday weekend the school closed early today. So from 6:00PM til the end of my shift I was alone at the site. Around 9:00PM I'm sitting in the office when a car pulls up in front of the building. Five teens pile out and dump a bunch of skateboards on the ground. They begin bragging about how cool this place is to grind and all that, really going on and on about it. Of course, I have to tell them to leave. They are not happy with this.

They all begin arguing with me, yelling and cursing and all that, and I'm yelling and cursing right back at them(I love my job). Another car pulls up. Four more kids pile out with their own skateboards. They join the argument and I'm getting more and more pissed off. Finally I give them an ultimatum: Leave now or I'm calling the cops. They switch tactics: they try to bribe me. They keep giving higher and higher amounts they will pay me if I let them stay. At one point they all put their heads together and talk amongst themselves. When they come back up to me one fans a wad of $20's at me.

    SK3: You get the idea...

SK1: We will give you $200 if you let us stay here.
Me: Get the fuck off this site or I will call the police. You are trespassing right now.
SK2: Hey guys, let's go do some coke!
SK3: You hear that? We're gonna go do some coke if you don't let us skate here.
Me: As long as you don't do it on this site, I don't give a damn what you do.
SK2: You'd rather have us do coke somewhere else than let us skate here?
Me: As long as it's somewhere else.
SK1: (Just returned from digging around in one of the cars, he holds up a PSP along with the cash) Final offer: 200 bucks and a PSP if you let us stay here.
Me: (I just glare at him)
SK1: The other guards let us skate here! When do you leave? The other guards are cool about it. They don't care.
    Me: (Continue to glare)
SK3: (Has gathered everyone up near their cars by this point)Jason! Get in the fucking car!

For a few minutes they stand around their cars trying to think of somewhere else to go. While they're doing this I pull out my little notebook and begin making notes on what had been happening. The first car full of kids leaves, but the other one is still there, the kids inside apparently still arguing about where to go now. I guess they saw me taking notes and were worried I was gonna get their license plate or something, because when they left they backed out of the parking space, backed out of the parking lot, and continued backing into the street until they were out of sight. A few seconds later they zoom forward past the site well above the speed limit for the tiny side street they were on.

The funny thing about that last part is that I wouldn't have jotted down their plate number even if I had been able to see it. I simply didn't care: I was just glad they finally left.

How pathetic do you have to be to shell out over 200 bucks just to play with your skateboards?! Stupid little fuckwads . . .

I just don't get them paying $200 to skate somewhere. I just can't imagine blowing away that much cash (granted, there were a lot of the little buggers, so the individual amounts weren't that much) and a PSP to just skate.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

"Let us skate here or we'll go and do some coke!"

What are you, their guidance counselor? I get the impression that they aren't used to encountering a person who doesn't really give a shit about them. It must really bug those brats that they've met someone who doesn't consider them to be at the center of the world.

          $200

Are there no skate parks in your city? $200 will buy a lot of gas, why don't they drive to one.

For that matter, $200 will buy enough lumber/concrete for them to start to create their own in an abandoned lot somewhere.

I woulda took the money, then called the cops.

NOTE:you would've had to turn the money over, but bribery is illegal, it would have gotten them out of your hair permanently

Wow, it must be nice to have enough cash to blow $200 and a high-end portable gaming system on a bribe for skating. Ditto the sentiment that you probably broke their fragile little minds when you told them that you don't care about them or what they do.

"I'm not your parents, so I don't care what you do. Just do it somewhere else. Unless you want to explain to your parents why you came home in a squad car..."
